Why should I want to offer a deal rather than continue with my current method of advertising?

Value-centric shoppers save $3.7 billion in 2010 using coupons. Coupon distribution posts record-breaking year in 2010. (http://www.santella.com/Trends.htm)

The traditional advertising model demands that you buy something first. Traditional advertising – TV spots, newspaper ads, direct mail circulars, even coupon sections in newspapers – are all incredibly expensive. Traditional advertising is completely paid for in advance, with the hope that it will attract quality customers. Change and testing happen very slowly in traditional forms of advertising. Tracking is not only time consuming, but it can be inaccurate. All of these factors make the old ways of doing things a huge risk. In tough economic environments, this risk becomes more and more difficult for businesses to take.

The efficiency of the Local Sharing Tree advertising model shines in contrast to the traditional model. The only expenses for a business offering a deal is the discounted goods or services that a customer purchases through Local Sharing Tree. Our creative team helps you design deals that will be very attractive to potential customers. This venue goes a long way toward developing a lifetime customer for your business, which is the goal of any advertising. See the chart which shows the comparison.

Local Sharing Tree also beats traditional forms of advertising in its flexibility, speed and tracking. Business owners who post deals on the Deal Page can change it as often as desired. This way, deals can be tested quickly and tracked for effectiveness. Even with the best design and advertising theories, the only way for a merchant to know if an ad works in their market is to test it. The merchant can do this easily from the comfort of a computer. Your business recognizes actual revenues for each deal sold.

Finally, the whole community benefits from the Local Sharing Tree model. Customers win by purchasing great deals and discovering local businesses they would like to patronize. They get to “test drive” the local business at a discount and hopefully become a customer for life. Your local schools get much needed funding that will benefit school children and non profits will see a boost in funding. This creates tremendous loyalty from parents, teachers and the local community who are choosing to help schools and non profits through Local Sharing Tree. Can your traditional advertising methods do that?

I can’t afford to sell my product/service at a discount. How can I make money doing that?

In this economic time, can you afford not to? The biggest cost in advertising is usually the cost of getting your ad in front of many eyes.  When you post a deal on LocalSharingTree.com, you are not risking any up-front costs while targeting people who desire your goods and services and are willing to pre-pay for great deals. Our customer support department will help you create a deal that is appealing to the public and a benefit to the business. Most deals are for less than the average sale, which gives you the opportunity to sell customers additional goods and services when they patronize your business. You will have the opportunity to WOW the customers and   Consider the fact that there is school loyalty and people will remember those businesses that participate.

How do you prevent people from counterfeiting the deal vouchers?

Anyone who purchases a deal a LocalSharingTree.com, must first create a profile through our site. Local Sharing Tree will notify the merchant of the identity of each customer who purchases a deal. Also, each voucher has a specific voucher code and security code attached with it. Each voucher and security code can only be used once and must be used in correspondence with the other. The business will be able to go to their dashboard and deactivate any used deal vouchers when they are used.

What keeps people from just re-buying deals rather than ever paying full price?

Each merchant can set any limits or restrictions that they want such as one per person, new customers only, or dine in only. Merchants can also limit the total amount of deals that can be sold. Local Sharing Tree helps to enforce these stipulations by having customers create a profile with required contact information.

How does LocalSharingTree.com market to the general public?

Local Sharing Tree com will contact public school principals, parent-teacher groups, college presidents, pre-school coordinators and non profit organizations to let them know that the program not only will be a great place to purchase Deals, but that 10% of the income from the sale of the deals will be donated to their schools or non profit organizations. This list will continue to grow and as the site gains momentum, Local Sharing Tree will furnish each organization with information explaining the program.

How does the payment process work for participating businesses as well as parent-teacher groups and non profit organizations?

Every business will be paid for the deals sold during the previous month on the 10th of the following month. The schools and non-profit organizations will be paid quarterly with one payment for the entire quarter on the 10th of the month following the end of the quarter.

That’s a nice mission, but how can it help my school group or non-profit?

Local Sharing Tree has partnered with local businesses to secure products and services from local businesses for up to a 90% discount. When consumers purchase these deals, Local Sharing Tree will donate 10% of its gross revenue to the parent-teacher organizations in schools, preschools, colleges, and non-profit organizations. As an example, let’s say a local restaurant offers a deal of a $20 gift certificate at a price of $10. When someone buys one of these, the organization of the customer’s choice would receive $1 for that deal. This may not seem like much, but the restaurant may sell hundreds of these deals so the donations can add up quickly. The key is that the customer designates which school or non-profit they want to receive the donation from his or her purchase. By encouraging your supporters to designate your school or non-profit organization, you are effectively implementing the easiest fundraiser ever!
